Company Receives First Purchase Order for India for 1,200 Cases of Its Ultra-Premium Marani Vodka

LOS ANGELES, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 4, 2009 -- Marani Brands, Inc. (OTC BB:MRIB.OB) (www.maranispirit.com) announced today that it has received its first purchase order from its distributor in India, Fairmacs Shipstores Pvt. Ltd. (www.fairmacs.com), for 1,200 cases of Marani Vodka.

On March 16, 2009, the Company announced that it has signed an agreement with The Fairmacs Group to handle warehousing and distribution of its products throughout India and Southeast Asia.

The Fairmacs Group, established in 1956, provides global shipping & transportation, consolidation/groupage & logistics, commodities, duty-free goods, and catering services. The Fairmacs Group employs over 720 workers worldwide.

According to the widely regarded International Wine and Spirits Record (IWSR), overall vodka sales in the Asia Pacific region have risen by 22.1% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) between 2002 and 2006 to reach 2.9 million cases. "This region represents one of the largest growth markets for us and we are very excited to move into the international arena with the receipt of our first purchase order from our Indian distribution partners," said Marani CEO Ara Zartarian.

The growth for alcoholic beverages in India, the fourth largest economy in the world, has been caused by steadily rising income and a young upwardly mobile middle class.
