ABB Ltd.  (ABB) shares gained 7.6% after the engineering giant said fourth-quarter profit more than doubled, while revenue fell 4%.

Career Education Corp. (CECO) shares leaped almost 14% after the for-profit education company reported quarterly profit that beat estimates.

CardioNet Inc.  (BEAT) shares climbed 9% after the wireless heart-monitoring device maker reported a quarterly loss but beat revenue expectations.

Cliffs Natural Resources Inc.  (CLF ) shares advanced 7.4% after the mining company reported profit doubled in the fourth quarter.

Priceline.com Inc. (PCLN) shares rose 9.4% after the online travel company reported fourth-quarter profit that more than doubled.

Right Aid Corp.  (RAD ) shares jumped nearly 11% after UBS AG analysts said the drugstore chain could be targeted for acquisition.

Zenith National Insurance Corp. (ZNT) shares added nearly 31% after Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. said it would buy the company for about $1.3 billion.

Decliners

Advanced Auto Parts Inc.  (AAP ) shares declined 6.4%, losing ground as the parts retailer reported fourth-quarter earnings that came in below estimates.

Arbitron Inc.  (ARB) shares fell 10% after the provider of audience ratings for radio stations reported earnings short of what analysts had estimated.

Avis Budget Group Inc. (CAR) shares dropped more than 14%. The car-rental company reported a wider-than-expected loss for the fourth quarter.

Cardiac Science Corp.  (CSCX) shares were off 20% after the company said its recall of external defibrillators would cut its first-quarter revenue more than it had forecast.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS ) shares fell 8.9% after the casino operator reported results that came in below forecasts, disappointing investors.

Life Time Fitness Inc. (LTM ) shares fell 8.1% after the gym operator offered a full-year forecast that disappointed investors.

Lumber Liquidators  (LL ) Holdings Inc. shares declined 12% after the hardwood flooring retailer said sales at stores open at least a year fell 4.6%.

MGM Mirage Inc. (MGM) shares were off 7.8% after the casino owner reported a larger quarterly loss than analysts had estimated.

Nvidia Corp.  (NVDA ) shares fell nearly 6.9% after the maker of chips for computers reported fourth-quarter earnings that fell under Wall Street's expectations.

O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (ORLY ) shares were down 7% after the parts supplier offered a 2010 forecast under expectations.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.  (REGN ) shares dropped 12% after the biotechnology company reported a larger loss in the fourth quarter.

Vasco Data Security International Inc. (VDSI) shares fell 8.6% after the Internet security firm reported its quarterly results.

WellCare Health Plans Inc.  (WCG) shares dropped 12% after the health-care plan provider reported quarterly results.
