DineEquity Inc. (DIN ) shares climbed 12.4% after the owner of IHOP and Applebee's reported a fourth-quarter profit that beat Wall Street estimates.

Ethan Allen Interiors Inc.  (ETH ) shares advanced 25.1% after a KeyBanc Capital Markets analyst noted the furniture retailer's increase in orders.

Internap Network Services Corp. (INAP) shares rose 6.3% after the router of Internet traffic reported better-than-expected quarterly results.

HSN Inc.  (HSNI ) shares jumped 8.9% after the television retailer reported profit more than doubled in the fourth quarter.

Joy Global Inc.  (JOYG ) shares rose 5.9% after the mining-equipment company hiked the lower end of its 2010 financial forecast.

Lattice Semiconductor Corp.  (LSCC ) shares added 10.4% after the chip manufacturer hiked its first-quarter revenue estimate.

Lincoln Educational Services Corp.  (LINC ) shares climbed 8.2% after the operator of adult-education centers forecast a 2010 profit exceeding estimates.

Maidenform Brands Inc.  (MFB ) shares gained 10.9% after the underwear maker reported fourth-quarter profits tripled.

Nektar Therapeutics Inc. (NKTR ) shares jumped 14.3% as analysts praised the biotechnology company's developing products.

Nelnet Inc.  (NNI ) shares advanced 6.3% after the provider of student loans reported a larger fourth-quarter profit than estimated by analysts.

Netezza Corp.  (NZ ) shares gained 20.3% after the data-storage appliance maker reported earnings that topped consensus estimates.

Novell Inc.  (NOVL ) shares gained 28% after the business software company said it was considering an unsolicited acquisition offer valued at $1 billion net of cash from hedge fund Elliott Associates.

Southwest Water Co.  (SWWC ) shares jumped 46.8% after the water treatment company said it would be acquired for $11 a share.

RadioShack Corp.  (RSH) shares added 5.8% on speculation the electronics chain might be an acquisition target.

Decliners

Helen of Troy Ltd.  (HELE ) shares fell 9.3% after a Wedbush Securities analyst downgraded the provider of personal-care products to underperform from outperform.

La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co. (LJPC) shed 37.5% after the company said it would be delisted from the Nasdaq on Thursday.

LCA-Vision Inc.  (LCAV ) shares fell 12.7%, with shares of the provider of laser vision-correction services slipping after four days of gains.

Medivation Inc.  (MDVN ) shares fell 67.5%. The biopharmaceutical company and partner Pfizer Inc.  (PFE) reported negative results in a trial of a drug as a potential therapy for Alzheimer's disease. 

RehabCare Group Inc. (RHB ) shares shed 7.9% after the provider of rehabilitation services posted fourth-quarter earnings that came in under what analysts had anticipated.

Rex Energy Corp.  (REXX ) shares fell 7% after the company reported a bigger-than-anticipated quarterly loss.

VisionChina Media Inc. (VISN ) shares dropped 37.9% after several brokerages downgraded the Chinese operator of digital advertising on mass-transit systems.
